Coronavirus-Goverment support
The situation is very fluid at the moment but the Government support so far includes the following
- Suspension of business rates for all businesses in retail, hospitality and leisure for a period of 12 months, and cash grants for some, upto £25,000
- Temporary Coronavirus Business Interruption Loan Scheme for banks to offer loans of up to £5 million to help SME businesses with no interest for first six months
- Business rates to be suspended for the 2020/21 tax year for shops, restaurants and venues that have a rateable value below £51,000
- Pubs with a rateable value below £100,000 to receive a £5,000 business rates discount from 1 April 2020
- Temporary legislation to allow Statutory Sick Pay (SSP) to be paid from first day of sickness rather than fourth for those who have coronavirus or are self-isolating in accordance with government guidelines
- Mortgage lenders to offer a three month mortgage holiday for those in difficulty because of coronavirus
