A modern Colchester based accountancy practice is looking for two all round book-keepers to join the team on a permanent basis. Both full-time and part-time positions are available, with the possibility of flexible and school friendly hours.

Ideally, you will have at least 2 years’ experience in a practice environment. You will need strong Excel skills and attention to detail, and be a good team player. Experience of Sage would be preferred.

The Role

• Working for a lot of different industries, making the role interesting and varied.
• Knowledge of the construction industry scheme would be helpful.
• Dealing with incomplete records.
• Bank, purchase ledger and sales ledgers reconciliations.
• Payroll journals and control account reconciliations.
• Maintaining fixed asset registers.
• Preparing VAT returns for review.
• Processing payroll.

Experience Required

• Ideally, a minimum of 2 years accountancy practice experience.
• Familiarity with Sage is preferred, but QuickBooks, Xero, Receipt Bank and Kashflow will be considered.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to liaise with authorities and clients.
• Proactive, confident and professional in all aspects of your work
